Killing Crabgrass on bare soil?

Recently bought a new house & had the old sod/yard removed by a Bobcat. The yard and sides of the house are down to bare soil for the most part and I've noticed that some areas are pretty thick with the crabgrass coming in. I can't do any damage with a hula hoe and Round-Up seems to kill the top portion only but not the root. I don't have any grass yet but plan on putting new sod in within a year or so, maybe longer if I need to wait. My question to you is, what works best to effectively kill crabgrass and where can I find it. I'm guessing that what I'm looking for you can't just find at any Home Depot or Lowe's or anything. I want grass to eventually be put in and grow over where some of these patches are but if I have to wait a lot longer to let the weed killer do its job, I'll wait. I need something pretty strong to kill this stuff. I'm just tired of it taking over the bare soil and making it look like I have tons of weeds when its just a crabgrass issue spreading like crazy. You can go to any county or community health clinic and become a clinic patient. There are out-patient clinics in universities and hospitals both and stand-alone clinics. They are non-profit and take Medicaid. Medicaid is a public benefit like welfare, not insurance.

What do you think of my employer? Office Max?

I'm a college student and work part-time at Office Max and it turns out what corporate and my manager care about is sale of warranties. If I don't sell enough warranties, I get barked by my manager who is younger than me, I get less work hours and it can potentially lead me to being laid off from work......Customers come into the store thinking I should be appreciative for them buying electronics here instead of buying at Office Depot and they don't buy warranties....How can I be appreciative of customers if my employer only care about warranties? My manager even told me don't waste time selling stuff to customers who are not willing to buy a warranty....man I feel like one of those sales people at a car dealership....I think I should change jobs.....

about the light. I tried buying yesterday the 40 watts from Home depot and it was day light. But it turned out to be even worst than the one I currently have. I noticed that there are the following: Day light, Neutral, cool white, Natural, and soft white. Which one would be the best to get the room to be more bright? Is there a different brand I can buy from somewhere else to make the light in the room better? Lastly, is 40 watts the highest?
