How long will this burn from a curling iron last?

Yesterday, I burned my forehead with a curling iron. It didn't hurt/sting for more then a minute & there was no scar or burn. Then, a few hours later a burn appeared. How long will it last? I heard some burns last forever, will this? I sure hope not.
