I am attempting to get a debt consolidation loan, who can I go to when the banks won't help?

Because of medical problems, I have gotten behind on bills. I would like to find a private lender who can help, however I cannot find any spot for this in my area in New Brunswick. Do you have any suggestions? Banks are refusing to help. I have a full time job and make pretty good money, so I just need someone to help temporarily.
