How has the economic recession affected you and your family?

For me, I'm a 20 year-old College student, I had a Job were my hours were cut every month, until unemployment. Now, I have College expenses plowed on me, with no job. My rigorous job searches had led me to find out that the little jobs at McDonald's (like being a cashier) or Home Depot (being a sales associate) are being applied for by College grads. In fact, the recession took a toll so bad, I learned how to cut my own hair, no more 20$ haircut every month. Instead of throwing a shirt or jeans away when it rips or a button pops off, I sew it back. Instead of shopping for grocery's, plus other essentials at Wal-Mart, you will find me at a Save-Alot grocery store or Dollar Tree. I have been hit in more ways than one.

I have a court fine due in 5 days help?

Alright, I owe 1300 dollars but I just recently moved so im broke. I was wondering if I sent a letter telling them I would make payments like 50 dollars a week minimum and they accepted the first initially 50 dollars would they still be able to put a bench warrant out on me. Killing Crabgrass on bare soil?

Recently bought a new house & had the old sod/yard removed by a Bobcat. The yard and sides of the house are down to bare soil for the most part and I've noticed that some areas are pretty thick with the crabgrass coming in. I can't do any damage with a hula hoe and Round-Up seems to kill the top portion only but not the root. I don't have any grass yet but plan on putting new sod in within a year or so, maybe longer if I need to wait. My question to you is, what works best to effectively kill crabgrass and where can I find it. I'm guessing that what I'm looking for you can't just find at any Home Depot or Lowe's or anything. I want grass to eventually be put in and grow over where some of these patches are but if I have to wait a lot longer to let the weed killer do its job, I'll wait. I need something pretty strong to kill this stuff. I'm just tired of it taking over the bare soil and making it look like I have tons of weeds when its just a crabgrass issue spreading like crazy. Well, let's see- the XPS has a better processor (yes the clock speed is lower, but it's a quad core. The Lenovo will be better for some scientific calculations, but not for gaming). It has a better screen, a better graphics card, a bigger hard drive, and a blu-ray drive. Overall it's a much better computer. That being said, it's bigger and it will have worse battery life. So if you care about portabillity, get the Lenovo. If you're only focused on gaming, get the Dell.

I attended a private university that cost around 24,000 a year. I recently withdrew because financial aid did not cover my tuition. i was left with an outstanding bill with no way to get more loans. Potted history - employed 2 years this Sept, in following March boss husband terminally ill she took time off and I was asked to step up - I did not get paid her salary but halfway between. Her husband passed in Sept she came back to work. Since then and because I learnt the job very quickly I do a % of her work and spend a lot of time twiddling thumbs as my job is the assistant at a level where I should be told what to do. I now don't because I know what needs doing (I work in Exams so its cyclical). I initially requested a meeting with HR re my workload in April - this happened in June. In between I have assisted other depots but have been told by my boss its because I am too efficient and I should not mention it as she may lose me to half time. After the HR meeting I got more work - its above my level but nothing I cannot do so did it. On Thursday after finishing the task for the 4th time my boss changed the goal posts again, I asked her to clarify exactly what it was she was asking make as it had changed since the initial request. Her reply was to blame her boss and then email my reply to her friend at work. Unfortunately I walked into her office to find the colleague with the email copy which she quickly tried to hide so I calmly and politely told my boss if she had an issue I would appreciate it if she spoke to me and not anyone else. I then spoke to HR again. Cue huge teary episode in which she was allowed to go home. She had a meeting again on Friday with her boss and again was allowed to go home though they didn't actually tell me just assumed I would do her work. I am an Exams Assistant she is the boss so you can guess how busy it is at the moment. I will add she completely blanked me before she went home on three occasions, her two friends did the same too which I find truly pathetic. The school however do not seem to appreciate the effect this is having on me - spend most of my day demotivated sitting doing nothing or I do her work and dont get paid for it. And now what I can only describe as bullying because I have 'dared' to confront her. Any thoughts on how to deal with this would be appreciated - I did post in employment and 'leave your job' is not really an option.

My hair was naturally curly. But it's gotten a little less curly with age, plus it's gotten so long (a few inches past my boobs) that it doesn't really curl anymore. If I scrunch it, it waves. If I let it dry naturally, it's somewhere between wavy and straight, but with like a layer of frizz over it. I straighten it to get it completely straight and mostly to get rid of the frizz. I know it damages my hair, I know I can't STOP it, but what's a good product that would help?

Question about flat irons?

Okay well let me start of by explaining my hair, i have natural blonde hair that is thin enough but not extremely thin. I damaged it quite a lot a few months back but its back to shape now. Okay whenever i straighten my hair, after about a half an hour it starts curling, going frizzy and poofy and it looks terrible. Ive tried ghd's and they dont work at all. Golfing tips NEEDED please!!!?

Ok so I'm 16 and started to golf for fun 2 weeks ago and I went to the driving range once and did alright all I care about is hitting the ball right now. Which is where I need help. In my yard probably a few times a day for like a half hour I go out with a 9 iron(closest to a wedge I have) and hit balls. I'm guessing 60% of the time I "top" the ball which is incredibly frustrating to chase the ball 10 feet and hit again, 20% of the time I take a chunk of dirt out before the ball without even touching the ball or just touching the ball with the side of the club and have it fly way left(I'm a lefty). 10% is that rare perfect hit. But that's only at first. If I can hold myself together and stay out there I hit more and more good hits until I get it almost everytime. Buttttt then the next time I cone out it's like in starting from scratch which is so frustrating because I know I can hit a good ball. I use the interlock grip and my pinky finger is getting a little sore but not bad. So is there anything to practice to keep doing good?? Cuz I just don't wanna be holding people up at the golf course and embarrassing myself

very good, but after one read its seems more descriptive of her environment than of her character and when you have to start talking abt her character with "julia was an intuitive girl...." it seems very blunt and in complete contrast to the description of her environment which flows like water. you are very good at description of the surroundings, use that to bring out the character. the character development seems very blocky, merge it with the rest of the text. when u describe the grass or the bushes bring out her thoughts abt how she believes there are secrets hidden behind them, in them/it and how when the wind blew she wanted to follow it to see where it went to see perchance where it began,< this is just a crude example to describe her curious character, her determination, start it off smoothly, ease into the character. ( i hope this helps somehow, i would want to read further)

Question about low ferritin level?

I just found out my iron level is 20 and my ferritin level is only 3. Now I know why I'm so weak and tired all the time. This is cheap and easy. Spackle and a straight edge will fix the dent. (less than $5) But, be thinking about how you will paint over it. Spackle is bright white. Hopefully you still have some of that paint left for touch-ups from when you originally painted. If not, you can try and match at Lowes, as they usually have a spectrometer machine that will closely match what you have there.

I got a ticket in the mail from supposedly running a red light two weeks ago. Let me pain the picture: One minute I look up and the light is green. I look up again when I'm about 10 feet closer to the light (2 seconds later) and it's already red. So I slam on the breaks but I see the camera take a snapshot of me. I work on a farm, and it is surrounded by a 10 foot high fence. And at the driveway, there is this strong, iron gate, that only opens if a passcode is entered on a padlock. Well, only people that we trust, (3 family members of my boss) know the passcode. Well yesterday we were standing outside of the house when we saw a red pickup truck pull into our driveway. The gate was closed, but suddenly it swung open and the truck pulled in and started driving up and down the fields. So me and my boss hopped in our pickup truck and sped down the field after them. We followed their tracks around a corner when suddenly they disappeared and the truck was gone. We searched the entire farm but the truck vanished. We are planning on putting security cameras down at the fence, to see how they got in. We don't know anyone with that type of vehicle. What do you think they did to open it? Please help! Will Simple Green clean a condenser coil?

I'm feeling to cheap to go down to the hardware store and get some coil cleaner. I have a bottle of L.A.'s awesome cleaner, (which I think is basically like Simple Green/Greased Lightning) and just wondering if this would work to clean my outside a.c. condenser coil, I'm thinking just spray it on and rinse off with water after a couple of minutes. Any down side to this? Also want to make sure I won't hurt anything with the unit. Would this work just as well as a commercial coil cleaner or only about half as good? What are the STEPS and TOOLS to install a Coaxial Cable Outlet?

Here's your list for Home Depot, a drywall saw, a carlon 1 gang old work electrical box, a coaxial wall plate or just use the one you have and get a blank plate for the old location, may need more cable, if so get male and female connector ends to splice them together. First step is to to take old coax apart from the old plate, if the coax runs through the attic you will have to go up and pull it up the old wall and drop it in your new location. Im assuming your new location has an electrical outlet, if so just drop the coax down the same hole the electrical wires are running through. If your coax comes straight through the wall from outside you will have to run wire either into the attic or around the eaves to the new spot. Once your new wire is dropped down the new location pull the plate off that electrical outlet next to where you dropped your coax and see which side of the box the stud is on. Make sure you are in the same bay as outlet and a couple of inches away trace your new box on the wall and cut out your mark, shave down drywall till box slides in, then find your coax in there and pull it through one of the knockouts on the back of box, then slide box in hole you cut, then turn screws on box and those little ears will catch on the backside of the drywall. Hook coax up to back of plate, screw plate to box and your done. You may encounter a fireblock in the wall when dropping your coax, if so let me know and I'll walk you through that too. Good luck

My cousin is over and we are in grade 7 and she has prom. Ok... I posted a similar question before and got the answer I was looking for, but this time I don't have quite as many lyrics to use... but I do have other songs that sound like it which may help. I'm a vendor for Home Depot and keep hearing this song that I actually hate, lol, and I want to find out who it is (don't ask).. the song itself sounds like KT Tunstall's "you're not the one for me"... it has that same kind of vibe and note progressions... the singer is a girl and also sounds quite a bit like her (thought it was her but now I'm not so sure). I'm from brampton, ontario and there's a high punjabi rate here. I like it here. Its close to toronto and mississauga. Some areas are bad cause of the people but there are good places to raise your kid. Housing wise, houses are costly. But you could find some deals or live on rent. A lot of people take the go bus to work or university. There are a lot of factories here and mississauga so you could find a job through agency I guess. Or if you guys have an education it might be easier for you. Coming from a punjaban myself, I'm happy my parents raised us here. Going to a school with a lot of punjabis made me more in touch with my culture and have more pride. There are some towns here but they're known to be full of racists. Brampton isn't small, it is a city afterall. Have you tried looking at houses in BC? Its absolutley beautiful. I doubt your kids would be ever bored there. c

Why do I get so cold sometimes?

Sometimes I get cold for no apparent reason. Doctor says my iron levels are very good, and I don't use any drugs that would make me feel cold =P lol but sometimes I just feel freezing. I weigh 200 pounds. For a 5'10" guy like me, that's a *tiny bit* fluffy, so it can't be from being underweight. But it's summer, and I still have to wear thick jackets sometimes! Im 17 years old and since i was little i always get really bad mouth ulcers. Some of them last up to 2 weeks and after that one is gone, another one will pop up a week or so later. My diet consists of very little fruit and veg simply because i hate the taste of it but i do try eating healthy foods like salmon and lots of meat. What's the best way to prepare a base for Envirotile Recycled Rubber Pavers from Home Depot for a patio?

What you want to do is the exact same as putting down paving slabs, set up your screeds and put in a stone base ( about 3 inches ) and whack it using a whacker plate ( available from any plant and tool hire ) The stone will whack down about an inch or so, this will give you a firm base to ensure your slabs dont sink. Now using 3 parts sand and 1 part cement fill the base up to the top and screed it off flush with the screeds around the outside and whack it down, then fill it back up again and screed it, but dont whack it this time. Finally lay the recycled slabs on top. The moisture in the ground and air will make the sand and cement go off over the coming week and it will be fully set. Overall, you want to dig a depth of about 150 mm or 6 inches

How should I read Marvel Civil War?

I want to finally get around to reading Marvel Civil War, but I'm not sure how to go about doing it. I'm no comic book dummy, I get the tie-in and crossover concept, but what exactly do I need to read to get the Civil War story. Do I read "Road to the Civil War" (Spider-Man #529-531, FF #536-537) and then Civil War #1-7? I don't need it from a million angles like Spider-Man's or Iron Man's, I just want the main story. So is this how I would go about doing it or am I completely off. I just don't want to miss anything major.

Help identifying my bonsai.?

I am in Minnesota, I bought it from a home depot. It has leaves that are anywhere from half an inch long to an inch, dark green, wavy at the edges, not prickely, I repotted it & the roots were swirled around in a circle in the pot (not sure if that matters) the leaves grow all long the branch, not in clusters, they come to a point at the end, the bark right now (not sure if it's all that healthy, it is growing though) is a greyish brown, I can see a little green through the bark (it's not very thick yet) it has some little pokey bumps on it all over. Doesn't look sick though, looks like thats how it's supposed to be. It is not growing any roots from the branches (like a ficus would if I've read correctly) any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Randomly feeling faint and dizzy?

I've noticed recently that when I get up and walk around, I get light headed and dizzy, and I feel like I'm going to faint. It only goes away when I sit or lie down. I've taken blood tests before, and they always have come back okay. I've been tested for anemia, and even though all tests came back negative, I've taken iron supplements. I've been off of them for a while now and have only recently been having this problem. I don't know if I should go back to the doctors, because every time I have in the past, nothing has been wrong. I've only actually fainted once, and that was after having a blood test done. Does it sound like I should go to a doctor or just wait and see if it passes? It's only been going on for about a week, and only gets bad enough that I have to stop what I'm doing like once a day.

Years ago, I'd say late 70s to very early 80s, I used to stay up late on Saturday nights & watch Wrestling (Rick Flair/Dusty Rhodes era) and after Wrestling, a late night horror movie would come on. It seems like it was "Nightmare Theater" or "Horror Theater" or something like that, and it was hosted by a guy named Jack...."Something". I can't for the LIFE of me, remember this guy's last name! I can still remember his face plain as day though. He had dark brown hair, a dark brown beard & mustache, and he seemed to be in his late 20s or very early 30s. It also seems like he was a disc jockey at one time as well. Anyway, he would come on before the movie and tell what it was about, and he would say a few words in the middle of the movie, or after every commercial, like a narrator. I believe the station would've been WTOC, channel 11. Like I said, I know it's a stretch, but maybe somewhere out there in yahoo land, there is SOMEBODY who remembers this guy, or at least what the show was called. How do i stop my neighbours dog from barking and digging under my fence?

There are some devices out that you can put up. It puts out a sound up to a certain radius. It'll keep the dogs away from the fence. Your dogs as well though. Its harmless and once the dogs realize that the sound is near the fence they will stay away from it. If you want to stay nice w the neighbors you cal always say you're keeping your dogs away from the fence. You could try a dog whistle for the barking but that'll punish your dogs too so im not sure if that will be a good option.

I don't really understand how you calculated your GPA because my highschool did it different but I would imagine it is equivalent to a lower 3 GPA. You have a good shot at getting into all these schools. Bloomsberg and Towson will be a little easier but I have a ton of friends that go to Rutgers with 2.7 GPAs and low ACT/SAT scores. Flagstone/stone on top of concrete?

We have a concrete patio 25 years old. It has two surface cracks and one deeper one that we repaired by sanding down and filling. The soil below is adobe. We'd like to cover the concrete with stone, but are aware that we don't know if the original concrete is reinforced in any way. We have heard of "Latex modified thinset" as a base then trowel it - then put on the stones on top. I'm 20 yrs old male that is 5"6 and 117 lbs, yeah I know, pretty freaking skinny and small. I tried going to the gym but the nearest one is a little over in hour away and the gas prices was killing me so I stopped going. I still live with my parents and there on this NO carb diet, and eat vary little, so there is vary little food in the house. I have a job as a waiter but with them making me pay rent, and my cell bill , and other crap it's hard to fork over money to pay for my own food. Last year I bought some stuff I could use at the house, like the perfect push ups, iron gym, and I bought a bench press with a curling bar also. I was working out, for 6 months 6 days a week on everything, and I was only drinking water and 2% milk. I was trying to eat good, like peanut butter sandwiches and meat but again it got to expensive since I pay for everything. After 6 months I only gained, 3 lbs. So that was a BIG morale killer and I basically gave up. So now I'm on here, yahoo asking since You know my situation what is the best way to gain weight? I haven't tried protein shakes or weight gain pills, or anything like that, do they work? If so can I mix them together? Like take those pills and drink those weight gainer drinks? Which ones on the marker actually work? Or if there a waste of money, what should I do?

I can choose between two programs of the same cost: a 4-year Undergraduate program at a lesser-known college -- York College of PA, or a 5-year Graduate program at a very well-known school being Rutgers of New Brunswick. I intend to teach in the South -- Mississippi, North/South Carolina, Texas, etcetera as opposed to my current state of New Jersey. I've heard that most schools will NOT hire people straight out of college with Graduate degrees with no experience, and that doing so with the economy the way it is would be the equivalent of shooting yourself in the foot.
