I'm having a hard time finding a job?

I'm having a little bit of trouble finding a job. I apply for a lot of places like Office Depot, Giant, etc but I usually don't hear back after that. I am only 16 years old though and a junior in high school which I think might have something to do with it. Can someone give me some pointers for job hunting? Thanks for the help!
